Historical fact of the week

In 1898 Herbert Hoover, banked with the National Bank of Australasia in Coolgardie (WA).  He was then the manager of the Sons of Gwalia Mining Company, however later went on to become the 31st President of the United States of America.

 

The NAB 150 Tour finishes its marathon run around the country...

Since its launch in Canberra on 22 February 2008, the NAB 150 Tour has travelled the width and breadth of the country, visiting over 110 regional and metropolitan communities.  After 35,000 fun-filled and action-packed kilometres, the NAB 150 Tour completed its journey in Melbourne at The Dream Festival on 6 October.  

Throughout it’s eight month journey, the NAB 150 Tour hosted over 180 events ranging from large community events to local branch visits and school music workshops.  Tens of thousands of people were entertained by the Tour as it weaved its way around the country, visiting communities as diverse as Canberra, Gunnedah, Dalby, Gladstone, Mackay, Cairns, Cloncurry, Darwin, Kununurra, Broome, Port Hedland, Dowerin, Perth, Albany, Whyalla, Adelaide, Portland, Horsham, Shepparton, Berwick, Burnie, Hobart, Phillip Island, Melbourne and many places in between.   More...
